SINGER and songwriter Jen de Ness joins her new sextet at The Ellington Jazz Club, Perth, for a sophisticated blend of classic and contemporary jazz on Thursday, 10th July at 7 pm.

'I am really excited to play at The Ellington again, as it is a chance to bring our unique version of Jazz to one of the most prestigious jazz venues in Perth while giving audiences a taste of our upcoming album', said Jen.

The Ellington show marks the beginning of a change of direction for Jen de Ness, aimed at bringing her jazz blend to a wider audience.

'I have recently opened a world-class recording studio in South Fremantle called AVALON Records with my partner (fellow composer, guitarist and ex-ABC sound producer) Bill Atkinson'.

Jen is currently touring both nationally and internationally, having just returned from London with rave reviews and soon to be heading to the Paris Cat in Melbourne.

'I loved performing in London - I am planning to return next year for a longer tour and to launch our new CD', said Jen.

'The album will feature myself supported by both local and nationally recognised jazz musicians'.

Jen has performed regularly at The Ellington and this show presents a tantalizing taste of Jen's upcoming album and features the sultry voice of Jen de Ness, complimented by a dynamic combination of Bill Atkinson on guitar, Satish Krishnan on percussion, Vince Pavitt on drums and new members Kate Pass on double bass, Alana McPherson on Alto saxaphone and Thierryno Gangou on grand piano.

Jen de Ness is a vivacious entertainer and delights audiences with her ability to sing everything from beautiful blues to sultry Latin, slick swing to fun cabaret while bringing them along for the ride.  Jen has been singing and songwriting for over twenty years and has worked with some of the world's finest musicians to compose an array of original jazz songs and new versions of existing favourites for your listening pleasure.

Jen has played to audiences worldwide and regularly performs closer to home at clubs and venues such as The Ellington Jazz Club, Subiaco Theature, Kulcha Club, Perth Concert Hall, Fly By Night Club, Government House Ballroom and PICA.

'Jen impressed us all at The Crazy Coqs in London - her musicality, her humour - she gets it and she knows how to entertain an audience.  We can't wait for her return!'
Harold Sanditen, Crazy Coqs, Brasserie Zedel, LONDON.

'Jen de ness is an absolute tour de force!  Sultry, scintillating and completely mesmerising.  Jen knows how to command the stage, her musicality and sheer skill was evident at her Pheasantry performance as she played with unfamiliar musicians yet boldly weaved and worked her way through a variety of bluesy, smoky numbers.  Fantastic!'
Pheasantry Club Fan, LONDON.
